Chapter 668

n𝚘v𝚎l𝚎as𝚝.c𝚘𝚖

Davey sat across from Princess Davey at a big table and they exchanged glares.

"So, you’re saying that you’re Davey O’Rowane?" Princess Davey asked.

"Yes."

"Ha... What a bizarre situation this is."

Although Princess Davey was bewildered in a way that he was familiar with, Davey calmly looked back at her.

Her power was no lie. Yet because of that, the situation seemed false. While it was true that Goddess Freyja was omnipotent, creating a being of Davey’s level out of thin air was beyond her. If it were possible, there would be no reason for her to request a deal with him. She would just produce Daveys en masse to do her bidding.

In other words, Davey believed that the woman seated in front of him was nothing but an illusion. She existed, but at the same time, she also did not really exist. he notion that two identical beings might coexist peacefully was unacceptable, so this theory seemed plausible.

Princess Davey now sat with her legs crossed and seemed much calmer. "So? Where did you come from? And why are you making a scene in someone else's house?"

“I want to ask you the same. I’m doing what I need to do based on my plan, and suddenly I find an uninvited guest. What, am I supposed to jump in joy and make you a cup of tea?.”

"You’re a lunatic! I am in my house, minding my own business, when a weird man suddenly enters and tells me it’s his house. What am I supposed to do?"

Naturally, from Davey’s perspective, the unwanted visitor was her. She was an intruder who had just appeared out of nowhere, replaced him, and even altered people’s perception of him. They both did, however, have some understanding of one another.

"In my eyes, you're fake," Princess Davey started again.

"Oh, really? From where I stand, you’re the one who looks fake," countered Davey.

"Can you take your nonsense outside? Ask anyone around. Since when did Davey O’Rowane turn into such a delicate man?"

"Well, I’ve certainly never heard of Davey O’Rowane being a lady with nothing hanging between her legs."

While his physique did become more androgynous during the period that Freyja's magic transformed his body, he was nevertheless still a man.

"Ha... I’m in awe at the absurdity of this."

"Well, anyway, are you going to work with me or..."

"As if that’d do me any good."

Her nonchalant attitude made Davey let out a laugh that was clearly scornful. "Can't solve this situation because you're fake?"

She gave him a bright smile. "Seems like you’re so fake you can’t even get a real solution."

A grin spread on Davey’s face, matching the smile on hers.

Crash!

The table shattered under the impact as they charged at each other.

Thud!

They butted heads and stayed there for a moment, forehead to forehead, glowering at each other.

She then said, "So, you're Davey O’Rowane, and you’re here because of the ridiculous hysteria our dear spinster Goddess bestowed upon us?"

"Did I cross over to your side or was it you who crossed over to my side?"

"Get your facts straight It's not me who crossed over. You're the one who appeared in my world, right?"

"What?"

"Why do you so confidently assume you're the real deal?"

"If you have a problem, want to settle it?"

"You'd hit a woman?"

"When did I ever ask people their gender before I cut them down?"

The brief exchange of hostilities ended, and Princess Davey sighed as she waved her hand dismissively.

"Amy."

Amy, along with a few beastfolk maids, appeared and bowed to Princess Davey. "Yes, Your Highness!"

Regardless of whether the woman was Davey O'Rowane or not and whether this world was indeed a fake, dreamlike realm, it was still uncomfortable to see Amy, who had only ever been faithful to him, bow to another person.

"Prepare to welcome the guest,” Princess Davey instructed. She then swiftly rose and brushed off her simple yet elegant dress. She then turned to Davey. "I'll need to check a few things. Why don't you wait here instead of wandering aimlessly?"

Davey quietly nodded in agreement.

"Master Davey," Rinne remarked.

"Yes?"

"It is assessed that Davey of the opposite gender possesses a significantly enlarged bust."

"Our mother's genes really are something."

Rising quietly from his seat, Davey wondered if the only change in this place was the gender of Davey O’Rowane. Or could there be other differences as well? If this was a trial given by Goddess Freyja, then it was bound to be a lot more problematic than that.

***

Princess Davey O’Rowane. She was not a Saint but a Saintess, not a prince but a princess. Though there were subtle differences, most aspects were strikingly similar to Davey’s, from his wayward nature to his passionate interest in hobbies. And his fascinatingly ill temper..

During a silent supper, as Rinne was prodding the meat on her plate with a fork, she raised an issue.

"Both individuals are identical. Genetically, there may be differences, but otherwise, they are the same."

"Your way of speaking and the expressions you make are different from the Rinne I know," Princess Davey murmured.

Was there a Rinne here too? But Princess Davey seemed to perceive Rinne as a stranger.

Before Davey could delve into these complex thoughts, Rinne suddenly dropped a bombshell, saying, "Rinne is curious which Davey is superior."

Hearing this remark, Davey stopped moving his fork, as did Princess Davey.

It was then Princess Davey who started the argument by saying, "It's obvious, isn't it? Just look at his Megatron. That thing you made... Its joints are a mess."

Davey smirked and scoffed at her taunt. "Considering the basic kinetic energy, I deliberately made the joints smoother to reduce strain. Did you not know? Ah, probably because your outdated Megatron doesn’t have the power output to reach that point, I guess."

Their banter paused, and thick silence cloaked them for a second before they lunged toward each other without warning.

Crash!

With a violent crash, Davey and the Princess clinched once more. Their arms were locked around each other as they snarled.

"The minigun approach of your juggernaut also seemed to borrow from outdated concepts."

"Sometimes the old ways are better, haven't you heard? And your sniper? Its light rounds barely reach 70 percent of the firepower of mine."

Their technical barbs at one another were tinged with a feigned cheerfulness, intensifying the hostility between them.

The atmosphere grew heavy as their gazes clashed, full of murderous intent. Munching on her food, Rinne commented, "A new aspect of Davey to be added to the big data. Rinne rates this highly."

The only one who kept eating in peace was Rinne, the cause of the chaos.

Princess Davey then stepped on Davey's foot hard, flashing a pretty smile. She then said, "A real man should have some muscles. But you look so frail that I wonder if you get beaten up often."

"Sharp-tongued for someone so dull. Flaunting that ugly face around would kill me in second-hand embarrassment."

At the same time as those words were spoken, the smiles disappeared from their faces.

Then, as they glared at each other, they spoke at the same time.

"OK, then go die!" "Wait for a man until you die, you boring bitch."

"As if any woman would stick to a little boy like you."

In response to her sarcastic remark, Davey asked, "You’re talking as if your nasty personality could ever attract a guy."

Being a woman, she was unable to think exactly like Davey. "Hmph. I'm still at an age full of promise."

"As if. You’re an old spinster who’s never even talked about marriage. You’re definitely suffering from hysteria."

"What about you? Have you done anything worth noting?"

"Did you replace your eyes with goblin balls? Can't you see the ring on my finger?"

At Davey’s rebuttal, she flinched and stammered out a reply, saying, "You... You can't possibly..."

"Unlike you, old witch, I'm already married."

"I have something going on too, you know?"

She now looked clearly flustered.

Davey had found another point of difference.

He pushed her away and dusted off his hands with a smile of triumph, and her expression became even more sullen.

"Come out to the training ground, you bastard!"

She then walked away, seemingly bursting with deep frustration.

After watching her leave, Davey faced Rinne, who showed him a thumbs-up with an expressionless face.

"Master Davey is deemed to have the upper hand."

"Right?" Davey replied without missing a beat.

In response, Rinne nodded several times.

Davey followed the temperamental Princess Davey to the training ground. She clapped her hands lightly a few times and then unfolded a high-level barrier magic.

"This will be a single round, you bastard. I'll turn you into a bloody mess today."

"Here come the hysterics of a spinster who's never dated anyone."

Davey couldn’t forget the struggles he endured so he could marry Perserque. If even he had gone through such hardships, then Princess Davey would only find it more difficult to get a man like that. If the only thing different in this world was that Davey was a woman, then she definitely hadn’t dated anyone, let alone gotten married.

Perhaps it was because they knew each other's level so well that there was no need for conversation. She instantly drew Caldeiras, and Davey countered her by drawing Red Ribbon.

"A unique-looking sword."

"Do you not have this?"

"Where did you get it?"

"It’s Surtr’s masterpiece, you know?"

"I don't, actually."

It seemed that the two worlds were not completely the same, after all.

As they talked in an indifferent tone, they stared each other down. Then Davey finally took a step forward.

Boom!!!

An enormous explosion rang out as their swords collided, and the resulting sharp wind blades turned the training ground into a mess.

"Where is Illyna?"

"In her home country, brat."

"Not being protected in the Heins Territory?"

"Prince Sullivan keeps proposing, so she ain't stepping foot in the Pallan Empire," she answered.

And this explanation made Davey smile broadly.

Then, without any warning, they both darted at each other. Her foot aimed for Davey's groin, while Davey's hand reached precisely for her cleavage.

Clang!!!

Of course, the dirty fight ended immediately, as both felt threatened and immediately backed off.

"At least I’m not a piece of trash who sexually harasses someone."

"Big talk for someone trying to kick someone else's groin."

She glared at Davey silently. The fight ended there, because they both knew for a fact that if they seriously fought each other, the entire area would be devastated.

"Alright, let’s stop here. What are we even doing?" With these words, she sheathed Caldeiras. Then she added, "Stay in the lodging for a few days. I'll find a way to solve this, whether that means to send you back or to eliminate you."

Davey responded with a quiet nod. 𝓷ℴ𝓋𝓮𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓈𝓽.𝒸ℴ𝓶

And so, time passed without any significant developments.

Davey became aware of a few distinctions in this world during this period. Though not exactly the same as the Rinne Davey knew, a Rinne did exist here. The Pallan Empire and Heins Territory existed only as necessary business partners, and the Princess Illyna here didn’t share as long a history with Princess Davey as the other Ilyna did with Davey.. On top of that, Caldeiras had ended in Princess Davey’s hands due to unexplained circumstances, and neither Red Ribbon nor Blue Ribbon existed.

Davey felt like he was observing a slightly different world. However...

This was just the beginning, and Davey had no idea that the dissonance he was feeling at the moment about his real world and this "Dream World" was gradually fading as this world was becoming complete.

[Even if you have to watch everything be lost, will you make the same choice as them?]

A week had passed since Davey arrived in what was presumably the Heins Territory of this world.Princess Davey had left for the Pallan Empire to investigate after receiving news about some trouble going on. And when she returned, her red-rimmed eyes made her look as if she had cried a lot. Not only that, she also appeared to be in a trance as she headed off somewhere.

A few days later, Davey saw her again. She had a frown on her face.

"Hey,” she called out to Davey.

"Is something wrong?"

"Can you... Can you risk the world to protect Perserque?"

Davey frowned at her question. "Do you think that’s a question that needs to be asked?"

"Is that so?"

She then let out a bitter laugh and turned her back on him.

He wanted to ask about the investigation she had mentioned, but her steps seemed too heavy.

A few hours later, she left the Heins Territory again.

[The guardian of the continent and its Saintess, Princess Davey O’Rowane, passed away.]

The shocking news came, and the world began to rewind.

When Davey regained consciousness, he saw Princess Davey O’Rowane holding Red Ribbon and Blue Ribbon.

"Who are you to come into someone’s house and make a scene?" Princess Davey asked, as if seeing Davey for the first time.

Just from seeing her holding Red Ribbon and Blue Ribbon instead of Caldeiras, it was clear that something had changed.

[The fate does not change. My priest, lay everything down and ascend.]

It was the voice of Goddess Freyja.

[The future would not change, and I...]

She was telling him to give up and leave everything to her.
