Chapter 673
“Who wants to take the lead?”
Princess Davey decided to take the lead, saying with an icy voice, "I'll do it. You've awakened Perserque, so your part is over. Don’t interfere."
As she spoke, she put down her Super Ribbon, which she was holding in her right hand, on the ground.
It was distinctly alien for Davey to see the weapon sparkling in someone else’s hand.
Super Ribbon stomped so powerfully on the ground that it seemed too strong for her slender leg. The single action caused a tremendous shockwave to spread out.

In an instant, Overmind was cleaved by the immense power that Super Ribbon unleashed. Despite having tough skin and a horrifying form with hundreds of eyeballs, Overmind was easily sliced through, seemingly unable to withstand Super Ribbon's sharp attack. But Super Ribbon's power that could slay even immortals could not kill Overmind instantly. Given that Super Ribbon had the ability to end one’s immortality, Overmind’s resilience revealed one possibility: it was maintaining itself using its power.
Swarms of tentacles that had filled the room lunged toward Princess, trying not to leave her any room to dodge. Instinctively, she was about to cast a wide-range magic spell, but then her gaze met Davey’s.
There was a saying that offense was the best form of defense. So she once again sliced the body of Overmind, which was mending back into its previous shape, while also dodging the onslaught of tentacles. She then aggressively mowed down the tentacles in her path.
"Red Ribbon, Blue Ribbon, do you want to go for a walk with Dad?" Davey asked softly as he held the two swords.
To answer his question, Red Ribbon and Blue Ribbon buzzed and communicated their feelings to him.
[Red Ribbon can do it! I can do well with Dad!]
[Blue Ribbon will work hard too!]
The two swords began to emit tremendous power. Then they swiftly merged their powers and formed Super Ribbon. As always, a translucent mid-teen girl materialized, clinging around Davey's neck from behind. 𝐧𝐨𝐯𝗲𝐥𝗲𝐚𝐬𝘁.𝗰𝐨𝗺𝐧𝗼𝐯𝐞𝗹𝐞𝐚𝘀𝐭.𝗰𝗼𝗺
[Father, Super Ribbon will do its best.]
“Why aren’t you calling me ‘Daddy’ anymore?”
[No... No! I hate you.]
Davey laughed in response to Super Ribbon, who avoided eye contact and started blushing.
"Let's go," Davey said. He then lifted Super Ribbon lightly, spinning it around before plunging forward.
Slash!!!
He easily sliced through the enormous length and thickness of a serpent's tail that had sprung out from the ground.
[Kyah!!!]
The half-serpent, half-human Princess of the Abyss screamed in agony as she struggled to pull her tail out of the ground where it was planted.
[You...]
"Princess of the Abyss, you don’t take after your fellow princesses ."
Unlike other Princesses of the Abysses who retained human forms, she was different. Not only did she have eight arms and a massive serpent tail, but she also possessed hair of incredible length. Considering that the Princesses of the Abysses were undoubtedly deadly beings because of their extraordinary powers and combat prowess that were capable of destroying entire worlds—including the Lux continent, which Urd had torn down—the one before Davey was undeniably a dangerous entity. On top of that, her power felt significantly stronger than low-level Princesses of the Abyss, including Versha or Melt.
Despite Princess Davey's warning not to interfere, Davey found no reason to stand idly by. And as he spun around Super Ribbon, the Princess of the Abyss pointed her huge spear in his direction.
[I’ll devour you too.]
A chilling voice declared. Then terrifying substances started pouring out from her snake tail. It spread across the altar, which then started to get destroyed and collapse.
Splat!
"What is this?" Princess Davey wondered out loud with a frown when she stepped on the foul-smelling liquid.
Maybe it was because she paused that Overmind’s tentacles, which had been cut multiple times but had not died yet, finally caught her waist and arms. The tentacles were quick to slither and wrap across her body, trying to thrust through any gap in her clothing. All the while, her expression turned icy.
"Hey," she said as coldness became evident in her red eyes. "You piece of shit."
In a blink of an eye, she cut off multiple tentacles simultaneously, then she lunged at Overmind's main body. Seemingly out of nowhere, she proceeded to draw Crowbar, which was Rinne’s primary weapon. Then she struck Overmind with it, as if to burst its eyeballs.
"Who do you think you’re to creep in here?"
Boom!
With a single strike, a shockwave spread, eliciting a horrible scream from Overmind. But she showed no mercy.
Watching how evidently Overmind was losing, the Princess of the Abyss seemed to have become desperate. She gave her spear a black energy aura and swung it with enough power to cover half of her body, slicing through everything in its path with a terrifying might.
The Princess of the Abyss's blow was packed with an overwhelming amount of power. Even Princess Davey, who had been overwhelming Overmind, had to choose whether to deflect or avoid it momentarily.
But the spear was aimed at Davey rather than Princess Davey. And it seemed as though the Princess of the Abyss really intended to kill him because the attack came so quickly that there was almost no time to evade it. When her spear closed in to a near distance, he pointed his Super Ribbon at her and lunged straight toward her, who was covered with the fluid she had secreted. Then, with bare hands, he caught the Princess of the Abyss’ spear.
Clang!
A black shockwave erupted with a heavy crash. Simultaneously, confusion was etched on the face of the Princess of the Abyss, which was grotesquely altered. The spear had no effect on Davey even though it was supposed to cut corrupt Davey’s hand. Instead, the black power emanating from his hand seemed to envelop and gradually disintegrate the tip of her spear.
[How?!]
"You can’t expect me to answer your question for free."
The Power of Taboo’s characteristics varied depending on the owner’s level of spirit. Hercules’ Power was outrageous because it could upgrade without a limit. As for Davey, whose power didn’t have Hercules’ overpowerness, he had managed to upgrade it in a different way.
‘Oh, I did it, alright,’ he thought.
A chilling sound of a body being sliced was then heard. The Princess of the Abyss, unable to believe Davey’s sudden change, froze with a look of horror.
Davey swung Super Ribbon, which had knocked the Princess of the Abyss down, shaking off the horrid smell of the fluid from the blade and making it evaporate.
Splash!
Her body that had become a grotesque lump fell and slowly sank into the fluid she had released.
Davey, who was observing the life power of the Princess of the Abyss gradually fading, split Super Ribbon back into two blades.
He then chose to do what Princess Davey had requested and did nothing more.
Before arriving here, he had already solved the problem that involved Perseque's power. This prevented Overmind from meddling in areas outside of the Pallan Empire, and this meant that he had completed his original task.
In this world, Davey had been regressing to the time after Overmind’s invasion, but if Davey were to return to his world, he would have to finish off Overmind even before the incursion could happen in the Pallan Empire.
On the surface, Overmind seemed like a relatively cunning creature of the Abyss, but Davey had yet to uncover what secret it was hiding.
Perhaps due to the death of the Princess of the Abyss, Overmind's eyes suddenly widened, and then the tentacles that were attacking Princess Davey also stopped and fell silent.

There was a terrible cry that seemed to indicate that Overmind was devastated by the death of the Princess of the Abyss. This caused eyeballs to open in the chopped pieces of Overmind’s body. The eyeballs then glared at Davey and Princess Davey. All at once, the world’s light vanished, leaving only complete darkness.
[...Perish in the Abyss.]
Davey, who realized how dangerous the creature was, instinctively grabbed Princess Davey's arm.
Compared to other Abyssal species, it posed a greater threat. While its physical strength was not an issue, its characteristic was extremely perilous for life forms like theirs.

There was endless darkness. People felt various fears, including fear of the unknown, disgust, and death. The Abyss arguably represented endless darkness that pertained to all types of fears. Words like thalassophobia and agoraphobia were not coined for no reason. Humans’ depth of their disgust was usually determined by their level of fear.
The Abyss was a place that instilled every possible kind of fear in living beings Overmind essentially had the power to instantaneously turn a large area into an Abyss, completely damaging and collapsing the psyche of any life form that happened to be present. This reminded Davey of the space connected to the Abyss he had encountered in the vampire ruins' underground. The fear that seemed to pull him into that darkness was overwhelming, and the Abyssal space created by Overmind could not be easily cut by Super Ribbon. Had this happened in their fight, Princess Davey and he would have been in dire straits in a place completely devoid of sight, sound, or scent, with the only things that could move being the Abyss itself and the Abyssal monsters of Thanatos.
It was natural to feel fear if the enemy could move and one could not.
[I will kill you... I will kill you!! I will tear you apart, step over you, and humiliate you!!]
Terrifying intentions, which could possibly drive even the Master-level wills to madness, were conveyed. But unlike Princess Davey, who tensed up a little, Davey reached out his hand without hesitation.
It seemed like Overmind had underestimated him, oblivious of Davey’s constant growth.
He would not say that this time it was merely bad luck for the creature. How many times he had regressed to get here?? He was never going to repeat this.
Before the Abyssal space created by Overmind could fully envelop him, he shattered it entirely with a whirl of his hand, as if breaking through a glass window. The darkness then cleared, and he was met by the astonished gaze of Overmind's giant eyeball.
"Clench your teeth."
‘Ah, but you only have eyes to clench.’
