Chapter 679

In the heart of the flood damage, there was a realm where divine traces remained intact. And because of the strong divine essence lingering in the place, the demons called it the Sanctuary of the Demon God. But Davey noticed that Goddess Freyja’s power in Tionis felt different from the one he could sense in the Sanctuary of the Demon God, a place that gave off a sacred yet foreign feeling.

Davey was sure the sanctuary matched the image he saw from the revelation that Goddess Freyja had given him, back when he and Rinne explored the place where she woke up.

"Damn, I’m being played on the palm of her hand until the very end.”

It appeared that Goddess Freyja, who had said that fate could not be changed, had foreseen everything, including his arrival in the sanctuary. At this point, Davey didn’t know how he could prove her wrong, but entertaining such thoughts at the moment would just be foolishness.

"It's been a while,” Perserque murmured. She then jumped off his shoulder, shifted back to her real size and strolled ahead with her hands clasped behind her back.

"You might get lost," said Davey.

"I know this place too," Perserque replied.

The physical location of the Sanctuary of the Demon God had changed because of its separation from the continent of Tionis. Still, its interior remained the same.

"So? What do you want to do here?" Perserque asked.

While she knew that Davey had business in the sanctuary of the Demon God, she was still in the dark about the plan he had for her.

And so, Davey gently stroked her cheek, lightly kissed her forehead and finally admitted, "I'm going to make you go through Metamorphosis."

Perserque’s eyes widened as she replied, "Metamorphosis? That’s nonsensical... You don't mean..." She looked at Davey with a frown. "What in the world..."

"Everything I’ve done was for you.” 𝓷𝓸𝓿ℯ𝓁ℯ𝒶𝓼𝓽.𝓬𝓸𝓶

From his simple answer, Perserque seemed to have fully grasped what he had done and all the ridiculous lengths he went through just to bring her to the sanctuary.

"You're mad! Absolutely insane! You really thought you could elevate the level of your spirit by simply risking your life like that?! You shouldn’t have done that!"

Her outcry was understandably intense, because what Davey did involved breaking and surpassing the limitations of a species. It was not only the level of his power that surpassed human limits but also his physical body.

"What in the world... Why would you do such a thing?! What am I going to do if you were hurt?! What am I supposed to do then?!”

"I did it because I can. So, don't worry anymore. Besides, you said you wanted a child.."

Her eyes widened again upon hearing his remark.

"With your current artificial body, you can't bear a child... But if you undergo Metamorphosis to have a natural body, it would be possible. So let’s start by taking off what you're wearing."

Her eyes went wide once more.

"It's your favorite dress," Davey explained.

“We’re outside, and I’m supposed to take my clothes off?”

"Better than throwing them away.”

She sighed, seemingly deeming it pointless to argue now that things had progressed to this point. She surveyed their surroundings then held the hook of her garment to start undressing.

"Tell me something, Davey."

"Sure."

"Is the reason for my Metamorphosis really just for a child?"

Davey did not answer her question. Because despite being the most crucial being to the Abyss, he did not want to burden her.

Making Perserque, who was sitting naked with only a blanket around her body, undergo Metamorphosis was not an easy process. It was so tricky for people from other races to go through Metamorphosis that it wasn’t an exaggeration to call it an exclusive privilege granted to humans. And yet here he was, attempting to transform Perserque—a spirit in an artificial body and an existence that did not belong to any race. So, it could not be easy.

"Davey, how long must I stay like this?" Perserque, whose face was flushed, asked as she pulled the blanket tighter around herself.

"Relax. We've already seen every inch of each other.”

“Imagine how it makes me feel to be outside in this state!”

From behind her, Davey reached out and lightly gathered mana, which he then poured into her body.

"Ah!"

Her blushing face and her moans were alluring. But he could not indulge in his sexual desire now. Any slip-up in the process could endanger the two of them. And that was also why Davey had intentionally cast double and triple barriers with both sorcery and divine magic, and even summoned Megalodria and the divine beasts as escorts.

"It might hurt a bit."

She looked at her white hands, clenched them into fists and braced herself. She then said, "If you’ve prepared for this, I’ll trust your plan. But why must I be bundled up in only one blanket?”

"You'll release the impurities of your artificial body during Metamorphosis. Besides, the pain might be too much for you to bear, and some other things might burst out from your body."

Hearing this, Perserque’s face turned serious as she replied, "I'd rather die than let it happen."

"Let's relax first," Davey said as he grabbed her shoulders and got closer to her.

"Davey," she murmured. She closed her eyes as a slightly romantic atmosphere enveloped them. It was a perfect moment for a kiss. But then her fantasies were cut short.

"The Princess of the Pallan Empire had the best reaction to my massage.”

“Huh?!”

She immediately realized what he intended to do, and so she instantly struggled against Davey. Because while it was entertaining to watch other people receive a massage from Davey, it was not fun to be its victim.

"Don't forget, you're at a similar level to Illyna."

Crack!! Crack!!

"Ahhhhhhh!!!"

Even someone who was once the mighty Demon King could not withstand the agonizing pain of the massage.

For Perserque's Metamorphosis, Davey began to interfere with the rules of the world in a certain manner by utilizing the spirit level of a demigod. He made it happen by applying the curse of Flow Rejection that Rho Aias had taught him. Hercules's power certainly played a part in the flow’s resistance as well.

Despite her best efforts to endure the pain throughout the preparation for her Metamorphosis, Perserque was unable to hold back her screams. Since Metamorphosis needed to be done as thoroughly and carefully as possible, the only thing he could do for her was to make the preparation as fast as possible.

With tears streaming down her face, she finally finished the preparation process. She hugged him as she sobbed, "Davey! That was too harsh!"

Davey soothingly stroked her back without saying anything after she finished her lengthy complaints and child-like whining. He then laid her down gently and stepped away slowly when she fell asleep from exhaustion.

Goddess Freyja's revelation to Davey about this place was most likely meant to make him realize that in the end, nothing would change. Was that really all there was to it? For a minute he wondered what other truths she had not revealed to him yet. But he shook his head. After all, why would it matter in the end? What was important was the present.

Davey clapped his hands lightly and a clear shockwave spread out as he declared:

[I command.]

[By my will.]

When he spoke, Davey’s voice sounded different from his usual one.

His power grew along with his spirit level, and this included the devil mana, the holy power, and his inherent mana. While the mana covertly glanced around before moving slowly, the devil mana instantly spread out to dominate the surrounding area. In contrast, the holy power continued to do nothing but be idle like usual. This made Davey think about whether he should really take a whole day to teach the holy power a lesson so that it could go for a round with the other kinds of power.

"The others are all moving. Are you slacking off again?"

Even the power of Versha, who was one of the Princesses of the Abyss, and the demonic force of a Demon King moved in response to Davey’s will, but the holy power continued to laze around. Perhaps the saying, "Even a dog becomes a lion in its own house," was true. Though this land belonged to the demons, Goddess Freyja's power filled the sanctuary. And that could be why the holy power acted pompously and lazily like Goddess Freyja even though she was not its source. Thus, there was only one answer to teach such lazy bums a lesson.

Shh...

Davey summoned the spreading mana and poured it directly onto the unmoving holy power.

Woong!!!!

There was a loud reverberating sound and a strong chemical reaction. In other words, the mana began to drag holy power out and put it to work.. Though the holy power resisted, it was clear what would happen.

Davey shook his head and dissed Saintess Daphne, the original owner of the holy power, saying, "Sigh. The holy power is just as troubled as its owner,”

If she heard such a comment from Davey...

[That's because you’re stupid, you damn stupid shit... What? You want me to beat the shit out of you? I'll freakin’ rip you apart.]

Daphne was infamous for having a short fuse and turning half of her sentences into profanities when angry, yet her power was so lethargic and lazy.

Eventually, the holy power also began to move. Davey then amplified the amount of mana around him using spirit mana and qi, and replicated the magic circle he had created with Princess Davey from the dream-like world. But this time, he had to do it alone.

That was why he and Princess Davey had kept that in mind when they designed the magic circle..

Perserque began to float, and blue light gathered around her. It then seeped into her as Davey slowly lifted his hands to control the power.

Boom!!!

A massive backlash was felt. If the level of his spirit reached only the highest tier for humans, his consciousness would have been shredded by the psychic wave. But Davey was already at the level of a demigod, so he could endure the backlash as he used the power granted to him as a demigod.

Davey officially began to interfere with the rules of the world, modifying the ones that specifically dictated how Perserque’s body operated. This Metamorphosis was an artificial one, rather than natural. On top of that, it was different from a typical Metamorphosis in many ways because it involved modifying someone else’s body. 𝘯𝘰𝑣𝘦𝑙𝘦𝑎𝑠𝑡.𝘤𝘰𝑚

[250 Metamorphosis stacks have been consumed. Proceeding with the physical evolution of the target.]

Davey lost all the Metamorphosis Stacks that he had accumulated diligently, but it did not matter. Because the result was a definitive power-up, regardless of whether it was Perserque’s body or spirit that evolved.. With his spirit, which had recently reached the level of a demigod, Davey started to infuse her with his power and mana, making her body stronger and more energetic. And during all of this, Davey remembered her wish. That was why he playfully cast a promise on her body.

"If she conceives Davey O’Rowane’s first child, that child, according to her wish...”

Davey was working with the hope that the child would be born as she wished, but at that moment...

Crack!!!

Something went wrong.

"What?"

He tried adjusting the mana flow here and there, thinking there might be a problem with the wording he had inscribed with his will. But the words "first child" were the only part of the mana flow that was causing problems. And that meant that in this world, his first child already existed.

"..."

Davey’s face grew serious.
